DNA Samples and Fingerprints

In the field of DNA samples and fingerprints, ACRO has continuously provided guidance and advice to police forces and has also been involved in answering numerous parliamentary questions, especially in connection with the taking and retention of DNA. In this area it operates on behalf of the ACPO chaired Forensic Strategy Board and the DNA Operations Group.

ACRO is currently reviewing the process of loading volunteer DNA samples onto the National DNA Database.
